RPG Guide

This guide is subject to change as the RPG progresses. New rules and information will be added as needed or as I complete them. You can do far more in the RPG than we list in this guide, be creative and have fun. As it doesn't say it here, you can still trade, raid and pirate vessels.

Moving

Since you're exploring the great unknown, you don't exactly know what you're getting yourself into. Moves are done once again in jumps and will be enforced. Since it's not interconnected by lines, 1 jump is the nearest system, 2 is the second nearest and so on. The map will be designed and maintained to prevent confusion. Once we get a need to add lines to show which is nearest, we will do so.

Communication

Before you can really contact a government, you need one of your vessels to hail that governments vessel if it meets it. You can set exploration and patrols to hail all unknown vessels or you can hail that government yourself. Basically both GMs communicate like normal but this can only be done when those governments ships are in the same system. If a government has subspace communications technology then they can freely hail each other after first contact.

Colonizing

If you want to live and set foot on a planet, you need to colonize it. In order to do this, send a colony ship or colony fleet consisting of colony ships and order them to that planet. If you're worried about hostile races engaging you, you can send defence vessels as escorts. Planet evacuations are done using any vessel larger than a fighter.

Combat

When first contact is made or later after first contact, 2 or more governments can go to war. Combat is simple enough, you have 1 day to respond to a hostile threat or engage the enemy before the battle is calculated. If it is a planet assault and you fail to respond, only vessels and defenses in that system will participate. The same works for engaging ships and fleets.

Mining

Asteroid mining is the quick way to make a profit, you can only put 5 extractors per asteroid but can mine any or all of the metals found on that asteroid. The equipment needed to mine is listed at the end of this guide, below are minerals and you can find. More will be added as the RPG progresses. You may also store and sell the following to other players and governments.
